IFP School at the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

    November 24, 2014

On Nov. 7th 2014, Dr. Olivier Massol (IFP School - Center for Economics and Management) delivered a talk “Joining the CCS Club! The economics of CO2 pipeline projects” at the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington DC.

During his presentation, Dr. Massol focused on the economics of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and examined the potential economic barriers to the deployment of large scale CCS projects. He then built on his current research and spoke about the challenges and drivers of CCS deployment and their impact on the break-even value for joint CCS adoption, touching on issues such as the regulation applied to these infrastructures and the ideal tariff structure in this nascent industry.
