The Professional Skills Module-entrepreneurship and cross-cultural projects at IFP School

The Professional Skills Module (PSM) took place from 6 to 30 January 2015 at IFP School. The aim of this module is to give students the skills required to work in the corporate world and in within an intercultural context.

“Being an engineer means being open to the world. Whatever position our engineering students take up, they will have to work in teams in an international environment,” explained Olivier Lerat, the module supervisor.

“The PSM enables them to find their footing in their various professions by encouraging them to collaborate with others in an innovative and creative way within a multicultural environment,” he added.

Over 130 students from different IFP School Master’s programs took part in five projects proposed by the School’s Development Committee.

This year, issues addressed were: greenhouse gas emissions, the energy transition, the flexibility of the gas market, optimization of natural gas and CO2 management.

In parallel, students were able to personalize their studies by selecting from 30 elective courses on the corporate world, cross-culture and teamwork, societal and corporate responsibilities, etc.

The PSM was organized by an interdisciplinary team including Vladimir Choque Flores, Supervisor of the Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering program, Pascal Gréau, Lecturer in the Center for IC Engines and Hydrocarbon Utilizations, Claudine Petit, Accommodation Officer and Anne Issautier, Assistant in the Center for Exploration-Production.
