IFP School honored at the EAGE FIELD Challenge

    June 28, 2013

Three IFP School students took part in the International FIELD (Fully Integrated Evaluation and Development) Challenge organized by the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) in June 2013.

David Alaigba, Gustavo Lopez and Ifeanyichukwu Egbe, students on the Reservoir Engineering (RGE) program, were selected for their paper on "Cross-disciplinary research: the way to the future".

The final took place in London during the EAGE conference.  The IFP School team presented the analysis and development perspectives of a real field based on geology, geophysics and reservoir engineering data provided by BP. This study took several months to prepare and was presented to a jury composed of experts from industry in the Exploration-Production sector.

The IFP School team were in competition with four prestigious institutions: Heriot-Watt University of Dubai (the final winner of the competition), Maharashtra Institute of Technology (University of Pune), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University and the Petroleum Institute of Abu Dhabi.

IFP School students are frequently rewarded for their work. Indeed this was not the first time that the EAGE recognized the outstanding performance of IFP School students. The School won the EAGE International FIELD Challenge in 2011.
