    Creation of a new chair

    January 8, 2012

IFP School has created, with the support of the Tuck Foundation and industrial partners who collaborate with the latter, a new chair entitled "Economic Modelling Applied to the Environment and Energy". In the interest of continuous development of its scientific environment, IFP School thus anticipates skill needs in the field of economics of sustainable development, environment and energy.

This is the fourth chair created at IFP School, but the first in the field of economics. "I am very pleased with this chair" says its head Frédéric Lantz, Professor at IFP School and Coordinator of the Master's on Economics of Sustainable Development, Environment and Energy (EDDEE). "We will study the economic development of new energy fields, including the development of biofuels in refining, the use of bioenergy and other alternative energy sources as well as the operation of energy markets".

The chair has been created for a period of three years and may, depending on the progress and needs, be renewed. Frédéric Lantz will be responsible for developing new modelling teaching units (optimization, statistical economy methods, etc.) and conduct in parallel research work on economic modelling.
