    New chair on biofuels

    November 29, 2012

A Chair on biofuels has been created by IFP School, the Tuck Foundation and PSA Peugeot Citroën. For a period of three years, this chair will focus on teaching and research activities to develop knowledge on the impact of the use of biofuels in motor vehicles.

Three subjects will be studied: the economic and environmental sustainability of biofuels, the impact of their physico-chemical characteristics and the composition of mixtures on the pollutant emissions and the fuel consumption of vehicles, as well as the impact of their use on the vehicle itself.

This partnership between PSA Peugeot Citroën, the Tuck Foundation and IFP School will offer exceptional conditions for research and training to gain knowledge on the assessment of the economic and environmental interest of biofuels. The chair, held by Anne Jaecker-Voirol—Associate Professor and coordinator of the Degree of Advanced Studies (specialization Engines)—will be responsible for developing new teaching units and participating in dedicated research activities.
